Have you ever wondered how some people appear to be able to remain calm, cool, and collected in the midst of troubles, trials, and tribulations? Are you bothered because you do not have a peaceful spirit; and everything bothers you…even the smallest incident just “sets you off” and you lose it? God never intended for Christians to live under stress, duress, and torment. When was the last time you got out of self and praised and worshipped God like you had lost your mind? His Word assures us that we have been given the tools we need to be able to live in peace and not stress. Isaiah 26:2-4 (KJV), “Open ye the gates, that the righteous nation which keepeth the truth may enter in. Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:…”
Where is the “righteous nation?” This nation consists of “The Children of God who profess Jesus as their Savior and have been made the righteous through the shed Blood of Jesus.” You must believe that you became the righteousness of Christ through the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. Our peace has been sealed with the promises of God through the application of the Word of God; and that cannot be rebutted! If God says it, then it is so. Too often, we allow our flesh to entertain the thoughts and ideas that the world offers us, or throws at us. In order to keep peace flowing in and through you, there must be a truth that cannot be contradicted flowing in and through you. The only truth is “the Word of God,” and that is settled in heaven and in earth!
Philippians 3:8-10 (The Message Bible) is a wonderful scripture to explain how to stay humble and remain righteous. It helps us to understand that we could not make ourselves righteous, but God! It also helps us understand that worldly desires, concerns, and possessions can overtake us and cause us to stress and become tormented over things that are not important at all. The Apostle Paul expressed, “The very credentials these people are waving around as something special, I'm tearing up and throwing out with the trash—along with everything else I used to take credit for. And why? Because of Christ. Yes, all the things I once thought were so important are gone from my life. Compared to the high privilege of knowing Christ Jesus as my Master, firsthand, everything I once thought I had going for me is insignificant—dog dung. I've dumped it all in the trash so that I could embrace Christ and be embraced by him. I didn't want some petty, inferior brand of righteousness that comes from keeping a list of rules when I could get the robust kind that comes from trusting Christ—God's righteousness. I gave up all that inferior stuff so I could know Christ personally, experience his resurrection power, be a partner in his suffering, and go all the way with him to death itself. If there was any way to get in on the resurrection from the dead, I wanted to do it.” (Philippians 3:8-10 The Message Bible).
God knew we would be engulfed in battles of the mind daily, and that is why He promised us that we would have “peace in the midst of every storm” if we trust in Him forever. The Prophet Isaiah was in the midst of trials, tribulations, and battles in his mind and in the physical when he clearly heard God speak about how he would attain perfect peace, if he would keep his mind stayed on God and trust in God…not in man! Family problems, job problems, money problems, sexual addictions, confusion over sexual preferences, drug addictions, confusion over what is or should be versus what is not and what should not be, all manner of sickness and disease, and all sinful nature, can all be dealt with in peace by reading and applying the “Truth—God’s Word.” God’s Word is the only truth!
Yes, there is a place of perfect peace even on earth! First, we must remind ourselves daily that God wants us to have perfect peace. We must concentrate on the name of “Jesus” from the time we open our eyes until we close our eyes every day. We must practice concentrating on the fact that God is able to deliver us, to heal us, to set us free, and to make us whole. Practice makes perfect!
The Apostle Paul confirms in the Holy Bible in Romans 14:11 (KJV), “For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.” The Truth manifest when we apply the “Name of Jesus and The Blood of Jesus” to every situation and every battle of life! When you take time to remember that God’s power is openly manifested in calling on the name of His Only Begotten Son—Jesus, you will not be consumed by the circumstances or conditions that you face on a daily basis. We cannot get tangled up in the problems, concerns, challenges, trials, tribulations, and troubles that come our way, because they come to consume us.
One of the most important lessons that God taught me years ago in my walk with Him was to apply 2 Timothy 1:7 (KJV), “ For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind” to my life at all times. The devil does not want your possessions or your money…he wants your mind! The greatest fight takes place in the mind, because once satan takes control of the mind, he has full control of your power, and there will be no love! You cannot remember the power you have been given, nor can you remember to love, when your mind has been stolen and satan has taken control of your mind. Always remember, your mind is a valuable tool that secures your ability to receive the truth and apply the truth! Every Christian must operate in a spirit of sound mind in order to overcome challenges. You can do it! You can do it, when you keep your mind stayed on Jesus! The Name of Jesus brings peace that no one can understand, comprehend, or analyze! Just start saying, “Jesus, Jesus, Jesus” in the midst of bad news, bad situations, bad company, bad thoughts, bad days and nights. When you cannot understand what is going on around you and you cannot handle your challenges, just say, “Jesus!” The devil will give the order for his demons to, “bow down!” Even demons tremble at the Name of Jesus!
Without peace, you become sick and your life is cut short! You do not have to live under stress, torment, and torture! Find that perfect peace that even you cannot understand or dissect! God’s perfect peace comes from thinking about God’s love, goodness, grace, mercy, kindness, forgiveness, longsuffering, gentleness, meekness, and understanding towards us. When you think of these things you will remember that God wants you to live a victorious life and triumph in His Will! Just praise Him! He will make His presence known when you praise Him! Raise Him! Lift Him up! Worship Him!
“The Name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.” Proverbs 18:10 (KJV). Try it! It works! You can become a witness about God’s perfect peace when you trust God! You’ve tried trusting everyone else and everything else, so give God a try! You can trust Him…His Word never fails!
